I agree. In the near future the computers will become the key part of home entertainment. We see this already; During parties we run MP3s from our laptops hooked up to speaker systems. honestly, I think internet speeds are going to have to get faster before downloading porn to your TV is a reality. I mean as of right now, I've got 4mbps and it takes about 20-30 mins to download a full bangbros movie (last time I checked a few months ago).

it will be about 5 years before this happens and is feasable. ISP providers offering download speeds, encoding format improvements and home/personal computer hardware is all up to par.
So what companies are gonna be in the best position? Probably not one that you can think of and my reasoning is this. Look at who were the big companies 5 years ago? They were the ones who took advantage and many of them are just shells of what they were. Look at the big companies from 8 years ago? Most of them aren't even around.
The only thing I can say is that new opportunities will be exploited by the hungriest companies.
Who will they will be when this takes place? who knows however I am sure Larry Flynt will still be selling porn and so will Hugh Hefner

Actually here in Belgium we already have interactive digital TV.
Some examples:
We have email on our TV, we have the yellow pages on our tv, we have interactive websites on our tv for finding jobs, etc....
We can also watch all movies placed on the TV providers server whenever we want. We have a menu with a large movie collection on our TV (gets updated weekly) and also has a large collection adult movies. We just choose wich movie we want to see and it starts right away.
The digital TV box uphere has an internet IP and is connected to a LAN connection.
If this is what you mean....... it's not the future, it's the present time here in Belgium

There are plenty of large mainstream corporations spending serious time and money working out how we will purchase, use, move and interact with all kinds of content in the future.
Computers themselves have hit the point where most consumers have at least one in their homes. Combining your Computer, TV, Radio, Telephony and other Infotainment devices together is the next step. A step that has already been taken. Microsoft Media Center PC's (though fraught with issues) are moving in this direction. These PC's will allow you to view most pic, music and video formats on your TV.
Shit...I even play MP3's from my computer (mac even) on my TV and stereo through my Xbox 360.
Oh...and the Hotel people I talked to at the DH show said 4 minutes was average. ;)Comment
