    This is THE reason and the only reason.

    THE PERIOD

                                      "Women have a regular (monthly) hormone cycle. In the first half of the menstrual cycle the hormone estrogen causes the mucous membrane of the uterus to grow and thicken in order to prepare the body for the potential implantation of a fertilized egg cell (ovulation occurs in the middle of the cycle in response to a hormone of the pituitary gland).
