Need help installing my sound driver

Windows update's not showing anything. I just formatted my main P.C. & need to get the sound on. All i know is my motherboards an ASUS, & it probably has onboard sound.

Any suggestions as to where to look? I tried asus's website to no avail.

I've got the Asus boards in mine. There should be an nvidia CD Rom with all the sound drivers. Just run that and it should setup properly.

Take a look at the motherboard model ( normally written between the PCI connectors ) , then dowload tthe proprer drivers.

Some programs do that, but that is more complicated than removing the cover, taking a flashlight and noting down the mb model ...

Or is it a brand name comp ( HP, Compact, etc ...). If so, just google the model of the comp and you should fing mb and/or sound drivers...

Download and install this program http://www.ncsc.dk/support/aida32ee_340.exe
Open the program, and brown down to "motherboard" tell me what make and model it is, and I'll find you the driver
