I graduated with a BA in "Internet Marketing" which I designed myself at UMass Amherst.

I probably could've learned almost everything I apply to my everyday life without any college. But I feel like my work ethic / organization was fine tuned by college.

i have some college.
i went to college majoring in music: vocal performance
then i decided i didn't want to do that and then i felt like i was wasting 16k/yr for not knowing what i wanted to do with my life, so therefore i dropped out.

That's a good call for sure. School is to much $$$ if you don't know what direction you want to go in. I was lucky enough to figure it out by junior year, and had taken requirements uptil then.

very true, doesnt mean for a second that anyone should quit school. The majority of people who dont finish school are cleaning toilets or something similar

Absolutely, but I don't hold it against someone if they tell me they dropped out of HS, that's all. I don't believe that the amount of schooling is a good measure of someone's intelligence.

I'm also planning to take a Master's Degree abroad..or an MBA here in our country..I dunno which one to take first..I guess the MBA.. but it really isn't connected at all with my undergrad course..just want to have some business background if ever I start my own firm someday..

Funny I used to teach computer courses in a community college and University. I told my students that if they stop keeping current in six months they would be obsolete. I stopped and I am obsolete too.

I finished what would be highschool in the US when I was 17
Went to the US to train as a commercial pilot, got all the training and my checkouts when I was 18,5. went back to denmark - broke my leg, started a computer consulting company at the age of 20, and NEVER looked back

But I have a commercial pilot's license
My own ?1.7mill IT - consulting and service company
? 50k worth of mainstream websites
My adult websites
One appartment, a house + my summer resident

am I smarter than other people? NO
am I affraid to take chances where other people hessitate? NO
do I spend a lot of time analysing where the market is going, so I have adapted in time= YES
Do you need 10 years of extra education to succede? YES, if you dont trust/know your own limits

Do I consider myself a success? NO - success is a goal only if you want the attention of other people.

what im trying to say is that "education" is many things - and only a fraction can be attained at a school. How do thing get written into those books? Because people did them! - did them because noone else have done it before - did it because it was the better way of doing things.

If you only follow tha books they lay in front of you, how will you ever make your own trail? is following the ways of others the rest of your life good enough for you?
