                                                                                                                                                    actually no, it's not fake that's exactly what happens because the plane escapes it's out soundwaves and leaves them behind. when it flies faster in the forward direction than the sound it is emitting in the forward direction, sonic boom, which is illustrated in the picture is what takes place.
