Any Religious People On This Board?

I met a webmaster a few years back who actually got his start as an evangelist! He said when he was a kid his parents made great loot dragging him around while he did his bible thumping thing.

When he hit his late teens he said the novelty wore off and he went to college to learn broadcasting. Got into websites and then became a pornmeister. Now he's doing good in real estate.

It boggles the mind! I asked him if his religious beliefs got in the way of his pornmeistering and he said the bottom line was eating or dying.

So I was wondering if any of you had a big religious upbringing and what do your friends think about it?

I don't consider myself 'religious' but I believe in g-d and believe that keeping certain traditions in a household and within family/friends to be important to have a sucessful experience in this life. I also believe that trying to help others and be of service is the best focus to maintain in life and that it will pay off greatly. This I believe is common sense, but doesn't have to be tied in with the so-called and often dysfunctional 'religious' crowd.

my family is very religious.. always asking me to go to church every sunday.. i do believe in god, im still participating in activities and stuffs.. but i've lost the reason of going to church on a regular basis..

i know people in our community who goes to church like 3-4 times a week.. and i also found out that they are the biggest liars and says the meanest things behind people's back, cursing like they hate everything around them..

I don't really belive in God as described by most religions, but I do belive in having a full purposefull rightous life. Some people in this thread said "I'm religous, but no one knows what I do for a living." I think there might be something wrong if you can't openly discuss your career, acomplishments and goals with other people.
