I tried a half-dozen or more scripts, including a couple of commercial ones. I settled on Wordpress partly because it has so much community support there is nothing I have wanted to do (so far) which hasn't been doable. I seriously doubt any of the commercial scripts have near as much development going on as Wordpress fans generate collectively.
Wordpress code is also very transparent. Which makes it easy to modify, whether for design changes or for tweaking functionality. And that's from the point of view of someone who is fairly strong on CSS but only so-so with PHP.Comment
