We went in at 8am and things were progressing well, by 4pm.. she was 6cm dialated. At 10, she's ready. However, that's where we hit a snag.
The baby was turned upside down... facing up, not down. So his head wasn't getting through. As a result, the cervix never fully opened.
So at 11pm, they finally decided that there was no other choice than go for c-section. As it turned out, it was a good choice anyway... the baby's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck TWICE!
Anyway, we finally get in there after midnight to have a healthy baby boy!!
He was officially born at 12:49am, weighs 7 pounds and 8 ounces and is 21cm long. Oh, and the best part? All the other newborns were crying from time to time. Cameron? He cried as he was pulled out of the tummy but never made a peep afterwards. They drew blood, put stuff in his eyes... he didn't complain once
Mom was very worn out, after being there all day and under going surgery so she's sleeping now. As is baby, so I took this opportunity to come home, update you all and get about 3 hours shut eye before I head back to the hospital.
