That's exactly how you have to fight to win a street fight. While it's nice to know how to box, the reality is most street fights end up on the ground within the first minute or two. Those that know how to grapple have an advantage.
However... bottom line is fighting is pretty stupid unless it's for true self defense.

NO he didn't. The guy who got his ass beat pulled hair, tried to poke out eyes, but still lost. Having dominant position in a fight gives you the upper hand.
The loserr had too much on his mind, like getting his face punched in.

I know you are the resident fighter so I am not going to debate this but I will say one thing.
Did you ever stop to think that the kid wasn't threatend for his life. They were obviously settling some sort of difference. Cameras, other kids, etc. Sure he wanted to win but not to the point where he would risk killing the guy that was beating him by ripping off his nads.
