Some people go into with the attitude (either consious or unconsious) of "let's see if they can really do this", which is setting them up for failure because you are really going against the flow and not letting yourself go under. The stuff you see on stage is usually the person being hypnotized wanting to not embarrass themselves by ruining the show. They are in enough of a trance to do the things they are told to do. It's like when you are a little drunk and you act much sillier than you normally do, but you're not so drunk that you don't know what you are doing.

I've done it a few times and it can be a lot of fun. Plus, there are some things that can be done with hypnosis that can really be fun in the bedroom. Imagine if your girlfriend or boyfriend is pretty traditional when it comes to sex, but they are into getting hypnotized.
