Didn't that article say he's been "excommunicated" or some such similar word from his family and stands to lose his 64 million? The difference between having a company with an estimated 7 million dollar value and having 100 million, or the difference between maybe inheriting 64 million and having 100 million, are still rather large discrepancies. Even if you add the 64 and the 7 you don't get 85 or 100...
That's the thing with inheritances, until someone dies you don't usually get all that money...

Article was written in 2004, who knows what might have happened since then...
The fact is people with that sort of money dont go out there way to let people know they have that much money. I know one guy who is in the 100 mil bracket he drives a 50k car and lives in nice house and thats about it.
Right on. The majority of wealthy households do not spend lavishly. My friend is a multimillionaire from real estate and banking, and yet she lives in a shack-like house.

7+64 and years worth of interest puts him about where he said he was.
Nobody's going to take me up on my offer? It'll only cost you $100k? If you're worth that much...imagine the press?!?
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

The article was written in '04. My boyfriend manages money for Merrill's private client group, I have to listen to how interest works all the damn time, and it's not that fast.
Hehe my uncle is the owner of Transworld Oil. He's an infamous Dutch billionaire and has no kids.
He's not the kind of man to donate all his money to charity, so perhaps I;m worth 100 million+ too. I'll have to ask him next Christmas.
Peace,
Selio
It's not the quantity of posts that matters, but the quality. Contact me to buy my sig.
I'm almost half way there. If I ever hit the 100m mark, which I almost certainly will NOT, I'd be so far gone all you guys would see of me is a cloud of smoke in my likeness. Private Island time.

Once you find out you're in the will, I'll supply the arsenic and we'll go halfers.

I can definately say I have over 100 million pennies in the bank.
BUT, if I had 100 million dollars liquid, I wouldn't spend my time posting it on a
board... because if I did, then I definately don't know what to do with my
money and need to get a life.
However, I do know some wealthy people that prefer to live a frugal, simple,
normal type life.... that's cool, I guess it's all in the individual. For example,
look at Sam Walton, the founder and late billionaire of Walmart - he drove
a beatup pickup truck till the very end. It's what makes you happy.
For me... I only live once and I know damn well I'll keep working hard and rock
hard until my last heartbeat.... a million dollars today is nothing, heck my
home cost more than that.
Sorry I don't come around as much here at GFY, I'm busy trying to make
another 100 million pennies. This thread happen to have caught
my eye... bling bling chat turns me on.

What if he invested a bunch of money in google when they first went public and sold recently, oe something like that?
Funny how people assume things, and then try to stick with it even after being shown that it is not as far fetched as they would've thought at first...
also funny how people claim they would only find it amazing if the 100 mil was liquid, or cash in the bank "write a check for 100 mil and I'll be impressed"
Only one GFY'er I know positively is over $100 Mil.
Also lots of the heavy heavy hitters in the biz might have assets above that, but also have partners, shareholders, debts, and liabilities and when you really get to the true bottom line net worth its a whole different number.
Also anyone in that league isn't going to talk about or show it on GFY for christ's sake. You'd have to be a total idiot to display your wealth here.
Play like you have nothing and you'll enjoy life way more and people won't take advantage of you as much.

465,000 shares X $220 profit on the shares = 102m.
true story about money and with people with it.
When I was 15 I used to work for my uncle during the hoildays he was a contract house painter I used to paint the fences and easy stuff. One day we where working in a big new housing estate during lunch a old guy pulls up in a old pick up and drops of some paint for my uncle I asume he is the delivery guy and ask my uncle who is the old guy as he is dressed very plainly just in working cloths. My uncle tells me he owns all of the new 70 odd hosues in the easte we are pianting and he is worth many millions of dollars.
It was the first time I realised that not all millionares drive big cars and dont carry on.

Yeah, I've met a few of those my self.
Even know of one guy that was really loaded and gave his daughter a used coffee maker as her wedding present... but that sort of stuff is just crazy, real life scrooges
Personally I think what Relish was planning to do has succeeded quite well, 3 page thread, and he hasn't posted since the first post
He was posts under this nick a lot. He says 3 or 4 people post in the relish nick. Krome likes to brag about money and possessions when it's his turn to be relish.
