I guess back then Ford hadn't invented the assembly line yet.
Ford was ahead of his time, and GM had yet to implement it.
Actually, I bought the car off the original owner who bought it brand new from my dad's uncle. THe guy was 70 when he bought it, and the car had 53,000 miles on it. It was fully loaded and immaculate inside and out, except he had been in a front end collision and because it did not have the rubber bumper guards some cars came with, it pushed the grill into the radiator and took out the water pump. It also crunched the front left fender as I recall. He sold it to me for towing charges of $50.
I then went out and hunted down a '59 Bel Aire, that did not run, but had a perfect front end. Even had the hipples on the grill.
I pulled the front end off the Bel Aire, and put it on the Impala, and sold the Bel Aire to a wrecking yard.
My total investment, $65. Not bad for a 16 year old kid.
BTW if that yellow '61 looks familiar, its because it was in the Gwen Stefani video "Holla back ya'll". His rides have also appeared in the boost mobile phone commercial, as well as various other music videos.
Gabe, you and SetTheWorldOnFire make me proud to be a MexiCAN.. not a MexiCAN'T.
Now then.. you gonna pimp my ride or what BIATCH! (I also got another car that I wanna pimp... but I'll tell you about that after you do my truck, I don't want any of these low lifes here to know about it... dig?)

We can talk about it over some cervezas and tacos.
It's a segment of Chicano, California AND Hip Hop car culture?
Why is that immature?
And then you quote the bible to support your narrow minded view?
You ok today, Donny?
LOL
Oh sure, teenagers can do such things. But once you leave your teens behind, bouncing cars is immature no matter what the culture might be. Usually around such cars reside people who can't be themselves and have to talk in a whole different way. I'd be willing to bet most wouldn't talk to their grandmother the same way they talk to their "homies" when out bouncing cars around. And I'm not talking foul language either.
Yeah, we're cool. We can get this hard look on our faces, talk in words we've made up, bounce our cars around (like that has some sort of value??) and live a pretty empty, meaningless life.
Again, When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Someone over the age of 20 should never be seen doing such things. If they are they have some serious issues. Life changes and real men need to grow up.
I hate bouncing cars. So damned immature imho. A Bible verse, of all things, comes to mind:
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:20

No matter who makes a statement, if there is truth to it I'd say it's usable.
This one basically says, "there comes a time in a man's life when he must become a man."
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Ridicule the source all you want. Hell, I ridicule the Bible in my blog all the time. But the message of that quote is quite fitting in this situation.

Someday, all men must become... men.
Donny,
Try to relax, the thread was intended to be light hearted. If you disapprove, move on to a thread that fits your mold. That is what I do.

Just stating opinions. If people continue to blow smoke up the asses of those who bounce around in cars, telling them how cool they are, they'll never realize how stupid they look to the majority of the population. I'm just educating, that's all.

Donny, seriously - what does any of what you just said have to do with owning a car with airbags or hydraulics?
Most people don't talk to their friends in the same manner how they talk to the grandmothers, regardless. I'm sure you wouldn't talk to your grandmother like you talk to ArronM or about the same subjects regarding your models and the positions you shoot them in. That was baseless example
Other than that, everything you just mentioned sounds like you're trying NOT to be racist in your explination BUT i'm not trying to judge you ... just calling it like I see it
People have fun in different ways, and car culture is like a pastime/sport of sorts.
BTW - What do life changes and responsilbilty have to do with any of it? Would you be happier and it be something you hated LESS if Gabe was riding in a dune buggy and was on the sand in Glamis?

Actually, I talk to everyone about these things. Grandparents, parents, everyone. Just ask Belinda or Aaron. They'll tell ya.

Bouncing cars around on city streets = a grown man trying to re-live his teenage years. Period.
Accept what you are. Be comfortable with yourself. Leave childish antics behind.

looks like your the minority in this thread hahahahahaha!

Don ... You can't look at that car as art ??? it's a great looking car and the airbags just give it an extra kick ... it's all just toys ... the next car i buy just for fun will be something like that .... it's not for everyone ..it's for a select few that can appreciate the work that goes into a car like that ... the day i start doing or buying things because the majority will approve is the day i become everything i hate ...... never going to happen
I think that title would go to grown men acting like little boys, don't you think?
Sorry dude, but you are way out of line here.
How many people do you think would say the same about you, and your chosen line of work? Aren't you of the age that you should settle down, make Belinda your wife, and give your son a mother?
Now, you know that personally, I do not subscribe to any of the above, but you know there are those out there that would say you need to grow up and be a man. In fact, if you were truly a man, you would still be with your son's mother.
