The last couple of days my monitor has been flickering with a heavy red tint (and no, it isn't the new skin).

you are using windows 3.1 - if your computer is from the same time it would be more expensive to upgrade anything than to buy a full new system.

Sounds like monitor to me, but could be the connector too.
Take a look at the plug and see if you have any bent pins. A pair of needlenose can straighten out (sorta) any that happen to be bent over.
It's really easy to bend the little fuckers if you plug the cable in upside down.

I highly doubt it is the connector as it has been plugged in to this monitor for well over a year.Comment

yup, try it with other computers and stuff.... sounds like a loose connection of some kind.
Sometimes when the pins aren't connecting, it tints the screen.Comment
