I think there might be a lot of corruption but the main spirit of DMOZ.org is not corrupt wich makes it possible to get aproved if you show that you want to maintain a neutral index with "all" quality sites existing on the internet about the specific subject. Then you show them how you will build this index and that you are devoted. I will guaratee you that you will get accepted.
