    Where to buy Video Footage of previous tv shows and such?

    My friend is doing a little film for his school and he wants to include in it some stock footage of video that has been shown on MTV, dateline NBC, and such.

    Who sells this stuff? I would imagine there is probably one central place that offers all this stuff, wondering maybe if GFY'ers know where since the knowledge base here rivals anything else out there.

          You would have to buy the rights from the individual license holders. Unless you're talking about stock footage. You'd need to identify who owns the footage and contact their licensing department

              Just splice up DVDs and claim fair usage ala Michael Moore style. Make sure to slow down the tape at critical points to get your point across.
