what are these reprecussions you speak of? All I'm getting is support & praise from people - your attempt to run a smear campaign has backfired because each time you come up with a new excuse not to pay it just doesn't hold water
Andrew, I really like your work.. but I like the way you've handled this situation even more
Lee is a nightmare customer, we all have them.. they give you direction (15 re-dos is a lot though.. lol) .. then they complain that they don't like it.. go figure
Are you open to doing some outsourcing work for me? I am too busy with content to do any designing anymore.. besides.. my designing skills aren't as good as I'd like.. doesn't stop people from coming to me though.. lol
Hang on, if that was the case, where did you get that list of changes from?
Please think of a lie and stick to it, its not hard to do
Regards,
Lee
You emailed me those changes in roughly Feb 04, and since then I have spent over one year trying to contact you back - I can count roughly 60 un-answered emails and 20+ unanswered ICQ msgs
Andrew, if it wasnt for the fact that I am partners with Quashe we would use you for work.
Personally I am siding with you.
Thanks, I appreciate it
Though, any designer who sides with Lee is basically saying it's ok for clients to bring their unpaid projects to GFY 2 years later & decide to pay based on a few out of context comments from people
I don't know anyone who does business like this, it's so unprofessional that I can't believe there are still such people out there.
I thought Lee was a nice guy initially - boy did I make a bad judgement on his character!

Thanks Tia - Lee is definitely the customer from hell - never paid a cent, doesn't respond to emails or icq's - I dont' get how you can complain if you never paid for a design!!
I like your work, whenever we're too busy and need to turn away clients I will be sure to send them your way

There is a professional trade organization in the graphic design field called AIGA (The American Institute of Graphic Artists), which represents over 15,000 accredited professional graphic designers. The "total bullshit" (as you call it) position that I set forth is based upon AIGA's fair practice guidelines.
If you would like to learn about AIGA and fair design practices, their web site is www.AIGA.org - I have linked a section titled: A Client's Guide to Design:
How to get the most out of the process, which some of you may find beneficial to understand how the graphic design industry actually works (as opposed to how you wish it would work).
Several people obviously have a misconception about design services. In a perfect world, every client is 100% satisfied with every design. In the end, that doesn't always happen. The client is still liable for payment (that's why many professional firms charge 50% upfront to new clients).
I'm not interested in continuing to argue with anyone, especially if they refuse to take the time to understand how the design industry actually operates.
Since I don't see either party changing their position, I can only conclude that:
BDS did the work, and did not intend to rip-off European Webmasters (which in another point I made, still only exists in name...why is that?).
European Webmasters is guilty of contracting for a service which was performed, and refuses to pay for it.
I think it's not bad at all. Don't forget it's not filled out with all the info.. if it had proper banners and all the content in it would look a lot more finished.. it's just a template atm and I don't mind it... also that it's not a paysite so of course it's going to lack the wow factor of a lot of their portfolio...
for some reason the menu on this one looks like it should be on a page dedicated to pirates...the map and font remind me of pirates..no idea why..maybe chio the pirate designed it
