I've never understood the pull of AMEX points. It seems I do better getting 3% cash back on my purchases.

I never understood spending my points on anything that wasn't the highest value % back to me... like gift cards at select retailers that are exactly a 1% cash back value... rather than shopping from an online rewards catalog for specific products that are only worth about .5% cash back value.

I still have 200k sitting collecting dust, nothing remotely close to that 90 million level. Though there are vendors that accept AMEX for payment on business sercives and supplies, so I could well imagine amounts like that happening.

It's a Chase Mastercard. Used to be called the Perfect card. I've had it for years. Looks like they no longer offer it.

I have an AAA card that gives me 3% off any gas purchase and Citgo and BP cards that give me 5% off gas purchases at their stores. AAA card also gives me 2% back on travel and BP card gives me 2% on travel and eating and 1% on everything else.

My Target card gives me a 10% discount day for every something thousand I charge (honestly can't remember what the amount is) and I time it where I spend around $1K on things I need anyway

I used to use my Amex points for airline upgrades - it was great. Now they won't let you use them if you have one of the Internet or low cost tickets....bah humbug!
