We waste drinking water? other then a few states in the US I don't think water is a "resource" that is in short supply. so if I let my hose run all day and children in Africa don't have water to drink, this makes me a bad person ?

I think, perhaps, next time you should read for comprehension. In no place did I say we waste water. And I wasn't siding with churches, either. In fact, I was speaking out against churches for not doing what they claim to do: being "like Christ".
Had you taken the time to read, you would have seen me saying some very similar things to what you just said.
Did you even read what I wrote, or are you simply responding to what others have written here? That sure looks like the case to me.
