WWE scraps 'arab' wrestler/character...

I think the WWE was really low, they saw that they could introduce a really good villian and took the oppertunity.... what better villian to introduce for everyone to love to hate then an arab after the 911 attacks

He and his his character was around before the 9/11 attacks and they pulled him off the roster for over 2 yrs following the attacks.

It may not be "real" but it absolutely takes some athletic abilility to perform the stunts. Many of the WWE performers are wicked phsyical specimens. You don't fake broken bones, either.

I don't see much a difference between him being on wrestling as bad guy/villain compared to watching shows such as 24 that show a whole family as arab terrorists

As far as it being fake, yes it is, everything in the match is planned and practiced. The winner is known before they ever come out to the ring. I'll even concede that the majority of the moves and hits are faked (made to look or sound painfull) as well.

But it does take a amazing athelete to pull of this 'stunt' work off and make it look some what real. And again.. getting hit with a metal chair, sorry man, no way to fake that. It hurts. Jumping off a ladder onto someone and through a table.. yeah, that hurts too. Go ahead and try it sometime, tell me how fake it is after that.

Nothing tasteless about Hassan, he was actually one of the better written characters on the roster, worked his ass off and played his part great. It's a shame, because there really is 10 horrible gimmicks for every 1 or 2 great ones, and of course one of the greats gets pulled.

I don't blame Vince, he had to do what was best for his company. And don't forget, Hassan was on UPN, a public broadcast channel. Christian bigots have been on a huge roll lately in getting the government to dole out huge, unfair fines to networks for trivial and unsubstantiated material.

jackie chan's stunts are all staged, but no one in the right mind would call them fake.
