just how good are legitimate opt-in emails?

So about a month ago I started two sites that require users to opt-in to receive their free gift. In the past month I've acquired about 15,000 confirmed email addresses.

I don't have them saved to a database or anything, but it wouldn't be too hard to get everything transferred into one.

Am I missing out by not using them? What's the best way to put them to use? Any suggestions for web based mailers? Or, any suggestions for mailers that let me import a text/excel file?

I think he means run the list into a forum and use its built in mailier..

Like for example vbulletin or phpbb.

Import the txt file you have into the users then just use the built in mass email feature
