He'd been working at Wal-Mart for 2 weeks. Obviously the lady who lost the purse would have came back with the police and reviewed all the store's security tapes. Him finding the purse could have all been caught on tape and he knew it. He was probably afraid to go to jail and lose his job.

Personally, I dont know what I'd do if I found the money. A few years ago I'd have kept it, but now adays.. I don't know..
