Peeve of the Week: New sites, no banners?

A number of sponsors have opened and announced new sites in the last couple of weeks... some of these sites are fairly original (as original as "in-out-repeat" of porn can get, I guess) and they look like they spent a fair bit of money on design, layout, and content...

So why are there either a very few banners and other marketing support materials (or worse none at all) for the new sites?

Banners are cheap... can't you guys at least get some outsource company to whip up a few basic banners for the standard sizes before you announce the site? I am sure the last couple of hundred dollars ain't going to kill ya!

For me I could care less about banners, I prefer to write my own sales text. What I want is some decent content to use to promote the site, not just three crappy sets that some companies feel is good enough.

Kane, for me it goes past banners right through promo material, direction, explainations... I wish programs would take 2 minutes and write a nice little blurb that explains the site, the marketing points, the best parts, update frequency, stars involved, whatever... just something to work from.

if you can't make banners or sales material, at least make the logos and shit available so that we can work on it ourselves.

Oh yeah, blurry crappy interlaced video caps at 640x480 are not "digital stills".

I'm also pissed when a sponsor sends a glitzy email about their new site, with the dreaded text: more promo tools SOON! I only use FHGs so it's not uncommon for a site to launch without a single FHG available to the affiliate.
