YARGH! Holiday Traditions
Got the Santa sig up (YARGH!), and started decorating. I'm finally getting in the mood for Christmas (a little late since we went on vacation after thanksgiving this year)
One thing we do with our children is buy them each a special ornament each year. We try to get ornaments that reflect their interests that year for them like their favorite TV show character (SpongeBob or Dora) that year or whatever.
On Christmas Eve they open their ornament, and place it on the tree.
We started doing it so that when they head out on their own they'll have all the ornaments they've gotten throughout the years to help them decorate their own Christmas tree. Hopefully it will bring back some good memories from past holidays each year too.
