Roger Moore always seemed too much of an average middle aged man... Whenever he got into fights I always thought "why are they beating up on that old guy".
Oh, how dare you ask me to pick a fav ... tisk-tisk: They both rock and both have a place in my heart as the true 007, but I'd have to pick RM -- he helped make alcoholics proud to be, and is a little devil.
SC does 'fit the bill' better or is the epitome of that profession (is what envision a 'spy', or whatever, to look like), but there is just something about him that stops him from rising to the top.
One of the things I noticed was that nearly everyone wore suits and ties, and I think this was much more common during the time when these movies were made.
While I'm a fan of both Sean Connery and Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan wins for me. Although Pierce is in his fifties, when I see Sean or Roger..... I see them as old men, and not attractive at all.
Well... back in the 60's he was. None have come close, but I do love all the Roger Moore movies as well.
I heard once that the writer, Ian Fleming, actually wrote the original James Bond books with Sean Connery in mind as the the role model. I don't know if that's true or not, but it's quite possible.
Sean Connery was the pimp, Roger Moore tried to be all cute and funny, but i mean, I never saw Sean have to force himself on women like Roger Moore in "The Spy who Loved Me" or "Octopussy"
