How exactly is it better? Several people in this thread have asked. Interested in the comparison of the two.

I'm here to publically show support and loyalty to Comus. I used AGP for a couple of years and then I switched to Comus. I had the pleasure of Tony (SixZeros) himself sit at my computer and tweak my settings and literally within days my traffic went from nothing to nearly 50K in the ebony niche. I went #1 in the niche because of Comus.

Comus is my only choice.

You can't compare the two. Comus has been in development for several years. Aptgp hasn't. Needs some time to catchup.

To answer your question here are a few things:

So people can't fuck with your rankings.

The script should work, or you should refund him. Doesnt matter if he paid $1,25 or $5000.
If you think he does not need support to get the script working if he only paid $25, what level of support will the people get that you are going to give the script "for free" in exchange for using your T-shirt?
Your script looks nice though, but your marketing just made me decide not to use it

Uhm, I don;t know what you were doing but AP|TGP2 was perfectly fine. In fact, I loved it. Wish I still had a liscence to use it. I sold my domain I had it on. As for support, the dude is great. I ICQ'ed him a couple times for help on minor things and he always had the answers I needed.

Comus has been great besides a few minor issues i had, but they were fixed quickly enough. Comus already does everything i need to be done. It might look like it's from the stone age, but it packs quite a punch feature wise.

I myself haven't tried Comus yet but I know its got a great productivity boosting engine... I actually prefer JMB softwares stuff for its stability, the user interfaces and the frequent and free upgrades... the new versions of tgprotator and agsql now has the functionality to rank on productivity also, since using them I have personally been getting 300%+ prod on some of my sites.

These sound like trade script features. The only way you can cheat aptgp is 1) by hitbotting your listings to improve their productivity (see below) or 2) to use IP-based mapping or redirection...something that is effecting some of the biggest TGPs right now...and they don't even know it. I am in the process of developing a service called GlobalScrub that can protect ALL tgps from this but it is on the down-low right now.

The program does it's best to accomplish this. Every day I am tackling a new type of cheater. More often than not, this behavior is obvious to the script AND the operator. When it isn't, APTGP uses proprietary algorithms to decide how unique a hit actually is. I do my best -- but it will never be good enough. I am not going to bullshit anyone into thinking the system can't be cheated. With the right tools you can cheat anything...just a fact...you can believe whomever you want about that.

APTGP actually uses .htaccess to protect the admin directory. It does not rely on PHP. It relies, instead, on Apache. You can put IP restrictions in the .htaccess file.

The Suspended menu provides full cheat management; both user cheat "reports" using captcha protection and both spider and administrator suspensions. In the admin gallery view, you can also view a history of that gallery's suspensions including suspension reason and date/time. I would fit System Integrity into the Database Utility. Full stats are available on two months of unique clicks per gallery, specific search terms, and overall searches. The build log exists in MySQL but is not actually incorporated into the stats menu but I had planned on putting it in. The script will also publish in any format. There is literally no limitation. And when the first mobile tgp happens...aptgp will be there When IE7 comes out with a built-in RSS reader...aptgp. When blogs die and there is a new fad...aptgp. The idea was just not to limit your creativity. You use comus when you want a tgp site like everyone else. You use aptgp when you want something new...not to say it can't make a traditional TGP. But on any template shoot-out, aptgp will win; hands down. And soon with version 3.11, aptgp will win on any thumbnail shootout (it might win now actually). You can batch export raw thumbs into a zip file, download it, and batch it through photoshop using Smart Blur, etc. You can even use aptgp's own version of Smart Blur. Not to mention a "better" unsharp mask that cancels out noise.

Honestly; this would've been a pretty bold stunt if I hadn't the product to support it. So keep me posted on your list. I don't generally view feature lists from other scripts so it is quite helpful. Someone just told me that AutoGallery added Auto Levels a week after I did...nice...at least someone's paying attention

I remember looking at the earlier version of aptgp and it sucked ballz. Support sucked major ass too...if you want to call it support. Would never want to try it again even if its been improved upon.
