    Fuck, one of my HS friends got killed last night

    He was a cop and died in a high speed chase last night. The most disturbing thing is that I called him yesterday afternoon to see if he wanted to go golfing this weekend, he called me back at 11:35pm and died a half hour later.

                                                                                      Shoehorn, so sorry to hear of your loss. 23 is young for anyone, and as a police officer it takes that long sometimes to even begin to figure things on the street out. There are many good foundations out there that help the families of officers killed in the line of duty, if you want me to list some of them for you to pass onto the family let me know. Also consider going to Memorial week in Washington with them, it's a great tribute to fallen officers, and the family would probably like you to be there if you were one of his close friends.

                                                                                      It was only a matter of time before that other site got posted here though, which is unfortunate.

                                                                                          I leave for Europe on Monday, so I probably won't even be able to attend his funeral. As of yet he hasn't been released to a funeral home either, so I couldn't even go and visit. The whole thing is filled with bad timing.

At 23, he couldn't have been a police officer for too long. 4 years of college and then police academy is nearly 5 years time. I imagine a huge investigation is taken place as to why multiple police cruisers collided at one intersection.
