good questions, I've been looking at it myself -
It's a blast. Just understand that everything outside of cities are instances. It's not like World of Warcraft no matter how many people try to compare it. I've been playing for a while and I love Guild Wars. It's cool because most of the quests are entertaining. There are not many "Collect 5 somethings and bring them to Joe Blo in Bumblefuck city."
Getting your character maxed out doesn't take nearly as much time as in other games either. The focus seems to be more on equipment and skills than who has had the most free time to play the game.I like pie.Comment

some of the main things i didnt like on guildwars was the places to get to were SOOO far away... and the fact that its MMO only in the cities kinda sucks... if you lose a member cuz a crash or a disconnect, you have to meet them back at the city, so on and so forth. The only good thing I liked were the graphics and the no monthly fee!Programmer

Guild Wars was meant for the more casual gamer. It doesn't take nearly as much time to max out your character as something like WoW would.
