The Playa's holiday will be once a month from now on. There's so many Southern California webmasters that really enjoy hanging out with each other, plus there's great deals getting done at small gatherings.
So as far as the next Player Get Together, we're gonna try this on a Saturday night. We had a much bigger turn out then I thought would have. Over 200 people RSVP'd and we had about 130 webmasters total all night. At our peak time we had 100 people networkin', chillin' and having fun.
With less then a weeks promotion done STRICTLY on GFY, I'm very impressed with the turn out. So thank you Lens and GFY for providing the best promotional tool for webmasters.
I haven't picked a date for the next get together, but figure it will be about a month from now on a Saturday.
D$ Review -
The lounge/restaurant is the perfect place for our people, high class, ambient, comfortable, not too crowded and it has the perfect outside patio for our smokers.
The talent that performed early in the night played great 80's rock and sounded just like the records, we tripped when we turned around and it was a guy singing to his pre-recorded tracks and also playing keyboards.
The band that played was an Acid Jazz/Trip Hop/House kind of music. 3 guys, one on electric horns (bad ass), one infront of his Mac laptop and another doing a back up drum beat with his human beat box. Truely unique and talented guys. It's also nice to have music that differs from our usual Hip Hop. Late night we did have Hip Hop with a great DJ.
KB and D$'s reality film crew were there. I can't say what the documentary is really about, but I can say that last nights filming was not for a reality TV show, it's for the documentary we are involved with. The film people were amazed with how normal everyone is, just like the people they would normally hang with. I guess the porn thing makes people think we're a bunch of sleaze bags before the get a chance to see and speak with us. It's nice to get a mainstream point of view on the people in our biz. The highlights were KB running around hitting on the "talent" and getting them naked. No "strings" attached. Well.... Ummm.. yeah...
