France need to give up their agricultural subsidies... It's only a small proportion of their economy but they're such a powerful lobby that have Chriac in their pocket. France would do much better if they stopped shooting themselves in the foot this way.Comment

All you people who rag on France without ever having been there make me laugh, it's like you're trying to look ignorant. Most "rich" Americans and Canadians, in other words people with a couple million dollars who think they're big shots, hate France because they could never afford to live there and have the same lifestyle, so they rag on the taxes and social benefits the lower classes get. It takes real money to live large on the French Riviera and the wannabe's hate that. France is far from perfect but they have it right in a lot of ways.Comment

My step father is French; I've been to France more than I'd like to admit. I have lots of family there also. The house that my Aunt lives was occupied by a Nazi Colonel, and later by an American General. I've seen how my aunts, uncles, and cousins live in France.
