Fucking cleaning people..

How goddamn hard is it to put shit back when you're cleaning? I hate coming home when the housecleaners are here.. random shit is just sitting out somewhere. They dump the waste basket in the bathroom and then leave it sitting in the middle of the floor instead of putting back where it was.. and they LOVE unplugging all the electrical shit so I have to go around resetting the clocks and radio presets... fuckers.

I think it's time to get some new housekeepers.. (sigh)

To everyone who's suggested that I talk to them: it's an agency, so often times it's different people each time, but I always give the agency two instructions:

1) put shit back into place
2) don't unplug anything electrical

Somehow it never seems to work..

If you have a service, get rid of it and hire an individual. I was MUCH happier with an individual doing it and I tried several services.

i feel your pain. i have had a good housekeeper for 3 years, but before we hired her it was a crazy search. This one housekeeper used to bring her two 3 and 4 year old kids with her. we cut that shit out real quick.

I work from home so when the housekeeper comes I am here in my office the whole time. so I can run a quick check on everything she's done - including whether or not she puts shit back.

that is a real luxury problem but i am having the same problem. or let my say my wife has the same problem. Every time she gets home she start putting things back on their place. and we got this woman already for 3 years and still things are not back on their plces after she is done.

As for the comment about cleaning up after myself: I'm a pretty neat person, but I don't dust, I don't vacuum, and I definitely don't do bathrooms.. bleh.

I had similar problems until I took the time to write it all out. It took forever to do but it saved so much time and frustration. The cleaners really want to do a good job, but well, the reason they're cleaners and not doing your job is because they need a bit of a nudge to get it right.

I went room by room and said what I wanted done and how I wanted the room left. When I used an agency I'd just leave a copy on the kitchen counter.

I've had a full time housekeeper for years so she knows where things go, but she's someone to blame if we can't find anything.

That's a good idea, or at least a smaller company, not a big name, so you always have the same crew.

My only problem with having an individual is they take SO MUCH longer. I would hate it when I would come home and she was cleaning my house. I felt like she was thinking "why cant you do this yourself?" !
