Roger if you're still reading this thread... I think it gets to the point bringing a company to a show (breezies too) where it's more economical to get a good sponsorship package that includes X amount of badges and a decent room discount.
Last August we spent about $10K - $12K going to the show without sponsoring when I could have gotten a tiny booth for $5K and some good discounts and badges.
Then again... I don't take my own advice... seeing how I don't even roll out of bed until the show floor is closed. Maybe in Jan.

spoken like a true nightclub promoter. thats the name of the game. i do nightclub shows with artists that cost me 50-100k sometimes, you have to show the women love or they will not go. you get the money back on the bar and the back end. 10k in free badges could cost you 30-40k in bar sales alone over a 4 day period if theres no ass to entertain people.Originally posted by RonC

I will never be a person that will just make a suggestion without a way to implement it. Let every webmaster that pays get a handful of PINK Talent Passes. These are for FEMALES ONLY. Everyone will know that webmasters and webmisteress should not have one of these badges. Do you really think NAUGHTY ALLIE (spelled correctly LOL) would be caught dead walking around with a badge that says I can not afford admission.

We have to get this fixed. Just think you bring the only 4 girls to the pool. These girls will take one look around and RUN!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously though, you've got a very valid point. As a loyal advertiser with AVN I hope they'll see that they're way off base on this one and implement something along the lines of what Ron has suggested.
I just think they're trying to make the show more productive for everyone and they didn't really foresee this particular issue. Now that it's been raised I would certainly hope that they respond to it appropriately. I really have to agree with the wisdom of what A1r3k is saying here...except one thing to consider is that Internext is not just catering to the straight market they also are attracting the gay site biz as well so gay talent would have to get the same benefit.
What roger was saying makes sense to allow a discount for "talent" badges which they do for the AVN awards show... but the problem there is that people will take advantage of that and try to say everyone is "talent". Who is set up to monitor that? Aly knows a lot of people but she doesn't know everyone and that would be an impossible task for her ultimately.
