                                and i don't want the eye candy just in the evening - i also want to see them by daylight. so, with all respect Ally, that idea is bullshit.

                                just put an end to this right now - and it will do only good to AVN. Make a "Talent" badge and everyone will be fine with it.

                                                                Well, we'll see. Either people will find an added value in the structure of the show this summer and feel it's worth the cost of admission, or they will not. That will be reflected in future events.

                                                                I don't think they do enough with the information they gather; it's not sold to anyone and is actually horribly under-utilized in my opinion.

                                                                The party's being thrown because it's about bloody time AVN Online threw a big party at a show, so we are.

                                                                On a more personal note... you sound personally angry and disturbed by the changes to the show. That seems very odd to me... It's just a bloody trade show. If the price/ structure of the event doesn't appeal to you don't go. I genuinely appreciate constructive feedback; a lot of changes have been made with that, but there's no obvious reason to become quite so hostile over a trade show.

                                                                                                                                    Demographic information is gathered at many events in order to assist future promoters in understanding the audience to which they are promoting. If, for example, it's discovered that 85% of Internext attendees run transsexual midget affiliate programs, then future sponsors will know to create promotions that take that information into consideration. That's why that data is collected. It's also collected in order to determine the mean demographic of an Internext attendee, again for future promotions. For example: Male, 25-35, affiliate prog operator, 5 URLS, 232 hits p/a. (that data was just made up and does not accurately reflect anything printed on a spreadsheet anywhere )

                                                                                                                                    The reason attendee mailing addresses are requested this year is simply that badges are being mailed to them (as requested). It would be logistically complicated to do that without mailing addresses.

The last few years there have been a flood of non-webmasters coming into the hotel to go to Sautine and Hollywood Prime Steakhouse and the lobby bar. They stand around gawking and cluttering up the place staring at us "freaks"

It would be logistically complicated to do that without mailing addresses.

                                                                                                                                                                                Many, many pre-registered attendees from the previous show expressed their preference for this in order to avoid long line-ups. They will still have to show ID at the hotel (to avoid admitting minors) but it will speed things up a lot. Of course, anyone who loses their badge mid-flight will still be able to go to registration and get a new one.
