Just got announcement from atkcash

And they made an interesting ammendment to their TOS. Just a heads up for y'all that didnt get it, or to create interesting discussion about it..

"*** ATKCash TOS Amendment - Thumbnail Skimming

ATKCash has amended its Terms of Service (TOS) (http://www.atkcash.com/index.php?pg=terms.php) to formally prohibit skimming traffic from ATKINGDOM's copyrighted content. ATKINGDOM content given free to ATKCash affiliates is solely for promoting ATKINGDOM's sites and not for trading traffic. This applies to ANY percentage of skim.

Effective August 11th, 2005, ALL ATKCash Affiliates (with NO exceptions) will be held to this rule. Accounts will be monitored, and violators will be notified that their account has been suspended until it is proven that skimming from ATKINGDOM's copyrighted content has ceased.

If you run a thumb TGP and your script allows for adding our thumbs to a skimming exception list (or set them to 0% skim), please do so before August 11th, 2005. If your script does not allow for a skimming exception list, please switch our galleries to text links or kindly stop promoting us.

We take the use of our content very seriously, and appreciate your efforts to honor our Terms of Service. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

I thought they made this a rule a while ago?

But anyway, your question is very valid. Punishing an affiliate because someone LINKING to his gallery improperly is absurd.

yep basically anyone that owns their own thumb tgp is not allowed to list their own galleries. But if they wanted to take those same galleries and submit them everywhere else they would be allowed too under this TOS and the other 1000 tgp's could skim their thumbnails still.

get over it.... if u don't like their rules, go elsewhere. it's their shit so what's the big deal? ... not all programs/paysites NEED promotion the way tgp's promote so leave it at that. find a sponsor who doesn't give a shit WHAT you do. done.

Get over what? ATK is a great sponsor. But this is unique and something that has its pro's/con's and worth debate. But more importantly it left out what happens to submitting their galleries to the thousands of tgp's out there. Is this also now banned or since you have no control as a submitter whether they skim or not, are you still allowed to proceed as normal.

I think it would have the same effect on submitters too.....I like this move but then again u know how much I loooove thumb tgps

hahahaha that is true. Great move and sure to help sites like yours in the way you use them as a sponsor. Even for me really as I dont skim on 90% of the traffic I send for them from my own sites.

Q'on though I value your opinion, you have no idea if thats their policy or not. I think I will wait to hear from Chris or Kim for their official stand on gallery submitters before I stop submitting.

its quite obvious how kim feels about it really... they don't have to say it outright for u to see they don't want their content in the mix of thumbs at any thumb tgp. i mean, not this post nor any future post will change that. i have respect for what they're doing simply because they appreciate their affiliates, but they also know the value of what they have & they don't want that damaged in any manner.

I never understood why more sponsors didn't adapt this policy, basically thumb tgp's use sponsor content to drive traffic to their trades....now the "cleaner" thumb tgp's that have a skim of 80%+ are one thing but some of these tgp's are like 70%+ to trades and a never ending circle jerk.

Haha... I stopped promoting them a long time ago... But before I did, I set them all to 100% skim to chokers galleries and made a ton off the thumbs. FUCK YOU ATK!

This same question was asked to me in a private email by another affiliate before I sent out this message to ATKCash affiliates. Following, quoted, is how he asked, and how I replied.

Thanks for the response Chris. Just wanted to make sure submitting galleries was still good, and we wouldnt be punished because another webmaster decides he wants to skim that day. As you say trying to police it would be a nightmare, and thats all your day would be consumed with.
