think about it, buy a cake/pie at the bakery today ... and you pay like $15 for it
for X-mas they put some baby Jesus on it, and suddenly it's $35 hehehe
or order a table in a restaurant, prices suddenly doubled also
It's that time where kids get all sort of low-end toys from relatives
People get mad at each other because they gave a $50 gift, and got a $40 gift in return
Then you just switch to giving money, you give another person $100 and you get $100 back ... so much fun huh
if X-mas is the only time in a year you can make time to get together with family ... there's something wrong

Right on point! I do the tree and shit because I have kids and they love it...they are lucky enough to not see the inherent evil in it all. If I didn't have kids, I'd probably treat it just as any other day.
Since I don't worship Jesus, I see no reason to celebrate his birth, although I do see that it has become a part of Americana so I can understand the "tradition" element of having Christmas anyways. I just do not buy in to the commercial circus it has become, it sickens me and I think it represents some of our worst behaviors in a lot of ways. I hope someday people see that. Then maybe it'll become a fun time of year instead of a total annoyance.
