I seriously doubt this dude is even in the US. Notice how they said petrol? Americans call it gas... the only time I've heard it called petrol was from Australians and Europeans.

This guy also used the term "in university"... Americans usually say college.

Hmm...Americans usually say College when they are attending a College and they usually san University when they are attending a University.

I attended both...College and University.

over here we call that shit the 1/4 mile.

Sheeple, I'm WELL aware of the difference between COLLEGE and UNIVERSITY. I was pointing out the wording. Americans typically do not say "When I was in university." I've even heard doctors and lawyers refer to grad school as college.

My point was, there's a distinctive difference between the way Americans and other nations refer to attending universities/college.

I graduated from a University (U of M) and when I tell stories about my school days I always refer to it as "when I was in college" or "when I was in school". I have NEVER said, "when I was in university".

My school friends are called my college buddies not my University buddies. I understand the point Furious is making and agree with it. Europeans call it attending University and Americans call it Going to College.

Nope. They say college. I have NEVER heard of ANY American EVER say "When I attended univeristy" now they might say "When I attended the University of so-and-so", but they never say "When I atteneded university".

Go to ESPN.com. They have a COLLEGE Football section not a College Football and University Football section.

Apparently your experience has been different than mine. I have known a few that used the term College and when I asked what University they attended they said no they attended a College. I do not have any doubt though that there are some that interchange the two...but it has not been my experience. My experience has been that College is ordinarily used when attending a Jr. College.
