first canadian winter, ya, believe me, a month or so when the real cold hits, the novelty is really going to wear off. the mid january weather gets down to that -30 and -35 area in edmonton, but it's the windchill that gets you. seriously down to -50 some days. you can't make it a couple blocks walking, no matter how much you bundle up with freezing up like a posicle some nights. its not an all the time thing, but it's rough when it hits. if you pick and choose when you leave the house, you should be ok.
