Not exactly the same circumstances, but had an "incident" at a gas station 100 yards from me last week. A mother drove into the station to refuel. She had two children in the back of the car. By chance, she got out and went into into the gas station store while an attendant was filling up with gas.

Next the car catches fire and the kids in the back banging on the windows and screaming to get out. The fire was too intense to get near them and the mother had to be held back while she watched her children burn to death. That is one very distrubed and troubled mother.



PS Almost exactly the same thing happened with a law friend - she saw a car collide and burst into flames. She stopped and tried to get near the car to see if she could pull anyone out.... the two front seat passengers were either dead or unconcious, but then she noticed two children in the back who started moving then screaming for help. She tried to get them out, but had little chance and got burned in the process. The law appeared fairly quickly and cuffed her to stop her from trying to get the kids out (she was undercover and they never knew she was a govt agent). She always said she will never forget the glimpses of the faces of these kids in the back of that car.
