Impeach him for what? He hasn't done anything impeachable.
What is it with lefties? I had to laugh at the Mexican lefties - just because their candidate didn't win, they staged a bunch of protests for a couple of months then held a mock swearing in ceremony for their candidate who lost.Comment

This thread makes me giggle. The demo's are already fighting amongst themselves. This was the worst time for them to take control. They have 2 years, if they dont make any changes they are fucked in 2008 on all three elections.

Technically speaking they probably could. The primary grounds for impeachment is that the president commit, "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors" When Clinton was impeached it was for perjury (he lied to the grand jury about getting a blowjob) the ever vague "abuse of power" and obstruction of justice. All of the charges stemmed from his fucking Monica. The impeachment was almost strictly along party lines and there was nowhere nead the votes to actually convict him. If he can be impeached by the repubs for that, then you could make an argument that Bush lied about WMDs and Saddams ties to al-Qaeda. Recent investigations have shown that they had a lot of intelligence that showed there were no WMDs or ties to terrorist, but Bush chose to massage and cherry pick the intelligence so he could invade. Also there is a lot of question as to the legality of his wire tapping program. So if the dems wanted to, they have grounds to go after him. They will never get enough votes for it actually make it through, but they could try.Impeach him for what? He hasn't done anything impeachable.

Yep, the problem is the Dems sold their souls to get elected. The repubs did the same a while back when they sold their souls to the far right so they could get elected. The dems sold out to the right leading middle. They purposely put up candidates that were more moderate, some were even pro life and anti-welfare. They knew hardcore liberals couldn't get elected in some of the more conservative states. I think what we will see is the more moderate and conservative dems fighting with the more liberal dems.
If they work their shit out and do some good in the next 2 years it will really help them win the white house. If they do nothing but fight with each other and go after the president they will hurt their party.Comment

You're forgetting that everything Bush said was also said by 85% of the Dems as well as Clinton !
If Bush lied then so did the Dems and Clinton !
I'm not taking sides and I would love to see the Dems try to impeach Bush just so it ties up congress for two years and to bring the truth out but it ain't gonna happen !Comment

Well, technically the dems lied because bush lied first. I know that sounds funny, but it's true. Bush released all kinds of intelligence that pushed his case for invading Iraq. Most people didn't have access to the rest of the intelligence. So the dems and Clinton and all of these people were only repeating what they were being told and didn't know it wasn't completely accurate. You're forgetting that everything Bush said was also said by 85% of the Dems as well as Clinton !

I don't want to see him impeached, I think that will take too much away from other things we need to do, but he should be investigated to make sure that he hasn't stepped over her boundaries.Comment
