Having watched every Bond many times (most in theatres), after watching this one, as a Bond fan, I'm sorry to say we can 'kiss kiss bye bye' the spirit of bond.
This movie is clearly oriented to the newer game crowd and it lacked all the essentials most Bond fans expect:
1) The title credits were no longer the sexy dreamy sequences.
2) The theme song totally sucked.
3) There was virtually NO dialogue in the first first third of the film and the stunts were boooooring (more for video gamers than movie goers).
4) The 'new' Bond is presented as a thug. His British accent is not enough to give him the class that Bond embodies.
5) The soundtrack was crap. If you know the music of John Barry (who did most of the earlier bonds) you'll prefer nails on chalkboards to what this film plays in the background.
6) For those who have been following Bond since beginning, going backwards in (story-telling) time but forwards in actual events time decimates all prior continuity.
It's one thing to upgrade the Bond actor but to go back to his beginnings in modern day context messes up all the other ones.
7) What ever happened to the elaborate sets?? Geez, the last Austin Powers was more Bond than this one is.
This is the first Bond movie I have no interest in viewing again - there's nothing interesting to see if you've seen it once. Most other Bond films can be watched over and over with joy.
I'll take Jason Bourne over the new James Bond any day.
