I let her pay for her dinner on a first date.
It was only after I kept insisting I would, and she would insist that she would... finally I said "okay, you can pay your half." She gave me a blank stare and said, basically, "Let me give you some advice, k? Never let a lady pay for her meal."
I was so stunned I didn't know what to say ... so I calmly looked down at the bill and told her her share .. then added "Oh, and throw in another five for your share of the tip."
After being the bitch of the year, you bet she was going to end up paying her share. Not another word was said until I walked her to her car and as I was walking away, she scolded me for not waiting until she was "safely" in her car! I just laughed and walked away.
Needless to say, I never called her and there was no 2nd date
