all i know is she is some syndicated journalist and i was making quickbuck look really bad and she was writing a story about it as soon as she got home.

actually i think the truth came out later that she writes her own blog / myspace - life as a porn star - where she stalks models and posts pics of herself with them.

All i got to say is, some people dont belong at a webmaster convention. Conventions should not be mixed with the general public. All of the above are obvious reasons why, including the lady who freaked out in the lobby about the airbrushed girls, and the guy who assualted Ramos in the poker room. I dont care what Ramos said to the guy or his girl, violence at a convention is totally unacceptable.

No group epitomized drunk behavior more than the employees from the QuickBuck affiliate program. This group turned a chartered bus that was to take conference attendees back to the hotel from the Lucky Strike Bowling lounge into their own personal party bus. There were twelve of them. One employee jumped in the front seat of the bus next to the drive and turned up the volume on the radio so high that the walls of the vehicle started to vibrate. Two female employees stood at the front of the bus dancing and simulating a sex act. Another QuickBuck employee named Brett, became very belligerant with an attendee who requested that the music be turned down.

Later, when the bus arrived back at the convention venue, QuickBuck employee Brett, got off the bus and again belligerantly attacked the person who complained about his company's behavior on the bus. This led to the victim calling the police. The situation worsened after the police were called when several QuickBuck employees tried to attack the victim causing the Sheraton Universal staff to step in and offer protection.

No kidding, so props to Pheonix Forum, Summer Internext and Cybernet Expo for getting the ENTIRE HOTEL for our events... that's the way to do it. I remember one year actually being paired up with a religious convention at the same time (and the same hotel) as a porn show. Elevator trips were interesting. People from the Jesus camp were standing as far on the other side of the elevator from us as possible... But seriously, I was trying to stay as far away from THEM as possible... those people freak me out! It worked out okay, no major confrontations, but seriously... I agree that mixing our industry with the general public is asking for trouble.

Boy for a "journalist" aka blogger ... she sure gets a lot of facts fucked up. It's hardly worth a recap but ... in the interest of fairness... I'll throw out another side to the story....

The buses were leaving every 15 minutes, when I got on the bus I asked the guy if he could hold up a few minutes because there were a large group of people on their way out. after a few minutes and periodic stragglers it became slightly obvious that the hearding of cats wasn't going as planned. discouraged by having already tipped the guy $25 for holding up for me and the group I was leaving with I had said in a bit of a condescending way that Fine if her and the other 5 or so people on the bus wanted to go we would catch the next one. The bus hung out for us, everybody showed in a few more minutes. I was sitting in the back and while you could hear the music, a couple good songs came on and I yelled for punker to turn it up. she couldn't hear me (i guess it was louder up front) so I moved to the front to sit next to Punker Barbie and tell her to turn it up. At this point "Tara" aka syndicated journalist aka rss blogger ... informed me that I was wearing my company shirt (not true, it's a friend's shirt) and that if I were me I would tone it down because I was being a beligerent 19 year old punk (i'm 18 and only wished I looked 19, first clue she might not have the best judgement) .. making the company look bad (yup, i was making quick buck look bad, pshhh... sweetie have you ever partied with Wild man wiseman?.

It turned into a back and forth of me trying to get her goat asking her questions and laughing about it. I asked that the radio get turned down momentarily to poll the bus to see if everybody thought i was out of line and making quick buck look bad. several people got a good laugh out of it, including QuickBuck employees Tonda , Mason, Steve, Justin, Jessica, Kris, Jamie, and Ryan (only 2 of which actually work for quick buck) ... as well as greg, punker, and aaronm.

I saw this girl at the san diego show - but maybe she just hasn't been to that many shows to know that the party transportation are party buses. Or that the shows are generally used as an opportunity to drink/party/hang out.... as a way to gauge if you like/trust the person ...and want to do business when you get home.

Anyways, at this point Punker is dancing on the bus. Jessica jumps up and joins in. Jessica says something about wishing she had a stripper pole. Keep in mind. This is a porn convention. It's 1am. the bus is 80% male. All of the kids and prudes should be in bed by this point. Me and two others make the offer to have Jessica strip for $300. She sounds interested but backs down from it. (for most of the ride this tara girl has remained quite - which is probably good for both of us - because no amount of talking was going to change her mind.) The bus finally pulls up to the hotel, shirley hops off first, then me, and I'm followed by Tara - when I turn around and say hey ... by the way the name is brett from quick buck (since that is what she has been calling me the whole time because I was wearing one of their bowling shirts from the party we had just attended. and that's when she flips out and tells me not to call her a bitch and starts charging me pointing her finger in my face and repeating that i shouldn't call her a bitch and just makes a total scene. I don't know if "by the way" sounded like "bitch"... but in any case....she drew a lot of attention and people came rushing over asking me what the fuck was going on (this is where she gets 4 big guys trying to jump her).... some many twisted parts to this story. And then she stood in the hotel lobby making a scene for a while, waiting for the cops to come, ,the cops came listened to her side of the story which even if they believed they couldn't do anything about but beyond that I actually had 10 or so witnesses to my version which was pretty similiar .... so they told me to just keep my distance as to not provoke any future incidents.

She sounds a little bitter that she didn't get invited to the Playboy Mansion party. Surprised she got into lucky strike - that was invitation only too and she isn't acting like that was a super exclusive elitest club.

The next time I see her, I am going to tell her what a dumb bitch she is.
