So I finally decided to upgrade my computer (SPECS)

    WHAT I ADDED:
    - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Dual Core Processor LGA775 Conroe 2.40GHZ 1066FSB 4MB Retail
    - Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400 2GB 2X1GB PC6400 DDR2-800 CL 5-5-5-12 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory
    - ASUS P5B Deluxe / WIFI-AP ATX LGA775 Conroe 965P DDR2 PCI-E16 3PCI-E1 3PCI 8 SATA2 Sound Motherboard
    - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA2 3GB/S 7200RPM 16MB Cache NCQ Hard Drive

    WHAT I ALREADY HAVE:
    - DVD Burner
    - 120GB HD
    - 250GB External HD
    - Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card
    - ATI Radeon 9700PRO 128mb graphic card

The thing is I installed VISTA with a format, and I saw that there is no way my computer can take it... lol

I was contemplating upgrading my graphic card, but since I don't game that much anyways, I thought i might keep it until I definately want to upgrade it

Nice setup... the aero features in Vista will look much better if you can get the graphics card up to 256... but otherwise looking tits...

Do you think the graphic card will make a big difference in performance in using a computer with vista installed?

I know it will... running Vista...

I have almost an identical setup to you, minus external HD... and my Video Card is a Radeon 256... night and day difference from my Sony running a 128...

The drivers need some major work on ATI's side, but what can you do...

So if I am going to upgrade my gaphic card, should I do it 256mb or jump straight to 512mb and spend 400-500$ on a good one?

Personally... at this point in the game I would go for the biggest the budget will allow for... you buy the 256, you'll be wishing you had the 512 during a rendering 6 months down the line... know whadda mean?
