    Mxdevelopment ripped me off - this is your warning not to do biz with them

    On 6/17 I hired Mxdevelopment to write some 2257 software for me.

    We already had a SQL database in place and just needed some modifications made and the ability to export everything into a local access database.

    I paid them a $280 deposit on the project, the total cost was to be $400.

    They PROMISED they would have it done for me no later than June 23....which we all know was the deadline for 2257 compliance.

    Since I sent the $$ I haven't heard a word from them....no response to my ICQ or emails....nothing.
    I just filed a dispute with paypal to try and get my money back.

    Thankfully we are compliant with 2257, but it's kind of a mess. We have a spreadsheet and a couple of disks with digital records and a file cabinet with paper records....I just wanted the modifications so everything would be nice and neat in one local database that had EVERYTHING we needed.
    Thank God I didn't need their work to be finished in order to be compliant and then end up being investigated....I would have been royally fucked.

    Anyways, this is your warning not to do business with these guys. They KNEW the deadline for 2257 was June 23 and assured me they would have it done before then....and then disappeared with my cash.

                                  This IS the second side of the story!! Lenny you are absolutely right you were scammed, and so were many others - including us.

                                  Mxdevelopment has an exclusive contract with us. Let me print it to you word for word for anyone that will be reading this.

                                  Contract signed and dated: August 2004

                                  4. CONTRACTOR (mxdevelopment) agrees not to resell, redistribute, reduplicate, or re-license the source code to another party after COMPANY (GenX law) has received the product.

                                  5. CONTRACTOR also agrees not to make any similar 2257 registration software to compete with COMPANY, or sell to another customer after COMPANY has recieved the product.
                                  (***so their sell to you, Lenny, was indeed a breach of this contract)

                                  Mxdevelopment was rewriting the program due to the final regulation as well as in another user friendly language and we were also promised that it would be ready pre: June 23rd. We have also not heard anything from mxdevelpment, and just found out today that they have been selling our product to others in violation of the contract.

                                  I know this really sucks Lenny, but hopefully at least you can get your money back from paypal, we on the other hand are out a lot more money than $400 and we dont have paypal as a resort to cover our expenses.

                                  Buyers beware.

                                              MxDevelopment also has a habbit of not paying people that DID work for them. Just ignoring them will make it all go away is Chris' mindset.

                                              Anyone dealing with Mx -- Be warned that your money is as good as gone. Dont expect product or a deadline to be met. The kid that owns it works on his timeframes, not yours.... all you are doing is paying for him to go out and party while you watch deadlines pass....

                                                                                                                              I assisted many people with the ongoing problems they had with the owner and programmers at mx. After way too much crap being slung at me for a cpl months because clients were not happy with timelines/deadlines not being met I left the company. I have tried to assist clients since via ICQ to find him etc because I feel bad for them getting ripped off. I have no idea where the owner is, I dont give a shit either. His BS has cost me much more than monetary gain, because of his antics and how he ran his company my name keeps coming up in this shit. To those clients that have been ripped off by him I wish you luck in your suit because he has screwed not only clients but ex-employee's as well.

                                                                                                                                                      Well,...isn't that convenient that they wanted to refund your money AFTER you filed the paypal dispute. Chris, is full of shit - I will be extremely surprised if anyone sees a refund. Mark my words - the week of July 8th he will be "missing" again and there will be another "unfortunate event" to prevent him from refunding any money, or delivering. Although I am sure the money that he has received from selling MY fucking product behind my back, will be able to cover any monies needed to refund clients. Fucking scam artist He thinks he is so slick, but he needs to beware because I certianly have a few things up my sleeve....for his ass, and pay backs are a bitch.

                                                                                                                                                              'Herb Kornfield', whos real name is Jim McMenamin, is the other half of Mx Development. I see him in this thread trying to distance himself from Chris, his partner in crime, but Chris doesn't post here anymore, so 'Herb' looks like the good guy.

                                                                                                                                                              These guys took me for almost $1300 last July. They came off like they had all this traffic of theirs that they could sell me. So, after running some tests on the traffic and seeing that it was decent, I sent them the money. Shortly thereafter, the traffic changed drastically. It went from being mostly US traffic to ALL Russian Federation traffic. I immediately told them to stop the traffic and refund my money.

                                                                                                                                                              After grilling the both of them, I finally got to the truth of the matter. It turned out that it was just some of their own 404 traffic that they were showing me, but after I paid them, they pulled a middleman deal and went to Ozzymosis from FastAdultTraffic for the traffic to send me. I don't know if you guys remember FastAdultTraffic, but Ozzymosis was just another one of those fly-by-night traffic resellers, who screwed a whole lot of people on here before disappearing.

                                                                                                                                                              Anyhow, it was like pulling teeth trying to get Herb (the 'money man') to give me my money back. Here it is a year later and he still has not returned my money to me. Herb has nickle and dimed me all this time since, just sending me just enough to show some effort, just to shut me up, but I think I have been more than patient, waiting for a year now.

                                                                                                                                                              Herb's reply to my last ICQ message was for me to go track down Chris for the money. It's not even a matter of the money anymore, I got almost all of it over the last year, but I just feel that people should know that Herb is not the innocent guy that he's playing here, at all.

                                                                                                                                                                          Yeah, well, sooo...here is the latest with us, Chris emailed me from another account saying that his name was Rob, and that "Chris" would be out of town for month and he ("Rob") was handling my account, yeah right....and trying to explain where he has been for the past months and made excuses for why he ripped me off (around 10K and counting now), that my product is ready etc etc etc ..So I emailed him back and told him what I thought about him, and he disappeared again, no returned money, no product....fucking scamming piece of shit.
