Good ideas in here. It will of course be for promotion, whatever gets the most attention without disrupting the hotle would be best. I am thinking of a lottery type thing? Give out tickets and have a drawing?

Giving 1k to 5 different people would be the right thing to do. You will be helping more people. Also it will bring you more notoriety becuase of word of mouth. 5 people spreading the word is much more powerful than 1 person, no matter what the amount of $$ is.
