This law also forbid them from living within a couple blocks of schools.... that's a bad thing?
2000 feet from schools or where children may gather. Which the admitted today would more than likely be changed. Since it is almost near impossible to do. See it goes beyond just schools
For parole's sure. Though again either lock em up for life or screw the after the fact punishments.
BTW 83 does not cover any past offenders, just those that will be paroled after the passage. Nice eh?

I think the part of prop 83 that should be changed is the part including misdemeaners and distrubution of obscene material, since there is no set definition of that. As for as child molesters, there is no rehabilitation of them. None.

I agree with you. My issue is simple though. Either change the laws so they stay inside for life or get over it.
I am pretty sure voters would go for a life sentance on child molesters.

I agree with you on the life for child molesters, but you have to take into consideration the large number of cases where someone is accused out of spite. Those people shouldn't go to jail for life.

Should they just be labeled as one then, stalked as one, and tagged like one?
This is not about if the system itself works and guilty people go to jail and innocent people are always found non guilty.
The problem I had with that prop was the fact that pissing in public can get you classified as a sex offender. Now do you think your tax money should be going to put a ankle bracelet on people like this?
