Here is the only scenerio I would use DRM:
1. Right now you can watch our videos in the explorer window.
2. Or you can download them to your local disc.
Only the downloaded videos would be DRMed and that is not even done yet. That would defiently put a dent in the people that join for a trial, download everything, and the cancel.

Yeah, it's just my opinion but if you are getting a good 40% - 50% trial to full (which I would love to have) then there are more people that are actually unsatisfied and will never come back. I know I would be pissed.Originally posted by bigdog

yeah how do you effectively put a time limit on content? because if a guy joins for 30 days, you don't want downloadables to go nill after 3 days..
it'd have to be a script that can tell how long his membership is for, then give him dynamic drm files..

Very good point will only work though i think if you really have some unique content that the surfer just loves. Some companies have dropped drm and none have really explained why. With the limited trial option catching steam over the last couple of years the wow factor of DRM has dissapated. A lot of big companies are streaming their vids more than offering downloads anyway.I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

Some guys just love to have the videos downloaded already, so I like to leave that option open. I would say that I would have 2 copies for each - I to play in the stream without DRM and a DRM'ed one for download.Originally posted by Pornwolf
