    Looking for a programmer too ? Read this! [drama]

    Fuzebox (he posts here under that nick) know him? Hes the guy who programmed our dutchteencash galleries script and hes the guy who we all thought was cool. Well this post will change your mind.

    Ive asked him to do a script, small one, over 2 months ago. I asked him again one month ago. He would start right away. Nothing happened. We decided to pay him upfront 100% since it was only $100 and maybe a few 100 more for additional changes. Nothing. He postponed the whole thing. Not once twice but over 10 times. Maybe this guy does programming as a sitejob looking out over his Jacuzzi in his Hollywood estate and couldnt care less bout a million or two, but normal people like to know when stuff is done and finished in time.

    Two weeks later, no script, excuses promises and a final FUCK YOU email. Im sure he thinks were picky, but Id like to keep things tight and on time. The cool guy he was changed.

    If you need a script dont bother to ask him. He wont do it in time. And Im pretty sure he wont refund as well. Weve got a new programmer btw hes cool fast and easy going. Posts here too hit me up if you need him 16 91 547

                      Its one excuse after the other. If youre moving and dont have inet and have to work on a laptop in between 1 million other things then you shouldnt take new orders.

                      Id like to work with ppl who are reliable and dont have to be chased around to keep working. Hes not one of them for sure.

                              Thinkx: Don't be a dumbass. Fuzebox is a personal and logtime friend of mine. We hang out often. I trust NO ONE on GFY (or in my personal life for that matter) more than him. He ALWAYS sticks to his word. However he is moving accross Canada (THOUSANDS of Kilometers) this week so you can't expect him to pull a miracle out of his ass. He even told you he is moving. Give him a break.

                              He would NEVER steal $100.
                              When you give an ultimatum "Send my money tomorrow or I will hammer your name all over the boards" you are being ridiculous. He has no problem refunding your measly $100 you need so badly.

                              Bottom line: You dealt with the situation poorly, and you now look like a tool. Rob would never go out of his way to ruin his rep over a crap $100.

                              I come out of this knowing you're a little too trigger happy to try to give someone a bad name. +1 thinkx to "never do biz with" list.

                                      The paypal funds are in my friend's account, he got home late last night and told me he'd send the funds this morning.

                                      This was the email I received this morning:

                                      Which was hugely insulting IMO. Why don't you post the rest of the email, it was a long one?

                                      Excuse me? Screw you. My friend got home last night at 2am (he was out all day, I asked him to send you the refund at 10am, 14 hours earlier). He told me he was tired and would talk to me in the morning.

                                      "Just as you thought"? You think I'm not going to refund you? Where the fuck did this come from? When did you start thinking this way about me?

                                      You'll get your refund, I'm not stealing your money. You *cannot* drop an ultimateum such as "Not, or partially or not TODAY refunding is no option", when you KNOW that it is not even my account that the funds are in. I haven't even got that money yet, it has been sitting in my friends account since you sent it last week.

                                      You've gone from being a very nice and reasonable person to attacking me harshly for no reason... This came right out of nowhere, what the hell is your problem? I was a few days late on a script (which is basically done btw, other than an issue with mail that I spent several hours trying to figure out and have to do another way now), after I explained my situation to you (I'm moving 4,000km away in 24 hours, between organizing logistical things such as storage and banking, and visiting all my friends and family one last time before I leave, I don't have a lot of extra time, but I did my best to make it work).

                                      Yes, I didn't finish on time, but there is no reason at all for 1) a ridiculous email full of threats and then 2) this email with an attack towards me. I have no idea why you could just send an ICQ saying that you got someone else and could I please send a refund your way, that would have been no problem.

                                      It's 8:18AM (GMT -8), my friend with the paypal account is still sleeping and probably won't be awake for 2-3 hours. When he is awake I will talk to him again, and he will send your money. Until then there is nothing you or I can do about it.

                                              I consider that a good problem to have.

                                              thinkx: do not accept small jobs from thinkx because if you don't obey his every command and go the extra mile for his $100, he'll "out you on the boards" over it.

                                                              everybody wants to bitch about programmers but do you have any idea what we hafta deal with? the first rule I learned when I was doing freelance was NEVER let your client know that you NEED the money, because they will use it to screw you out of your hard work and not pay up.

                                                              thinkx is a peice of shit who cant even tell the full story when he wants to cry on the boards, and your trying to talk about honesty?? fucking hypocrite

                                                                                      That's what you assume. It's called priority. Yes, all projects should be done as quickly as possible but sometimes that's just not realistic.

                                                                                      When someone pays you $10k to do something and someone else comes along with a $100 project.... you get the idea which one gets the higher priority.

                                                                                      A programmer will tell you straight up that he's very busy and "will get to it when he can" and give you a tentative time line... "I can try for tomorrow" or something like that.

                                                                                      If you give someone $100, that doesn't meant that he's at your beck and call 24/7 until your work is done. You're just a small piece of pie out of a very large work load.

                                                                                      A lot of times that small project gets referred to someone else, or just denied, or tried but failed.... it sucks but it happens a lot in the programming world.

                                                                                      He tried, couldn't get it into the schedule and offered you back your money. So take it and this $100 drama and find someone else.

                                                                                          Fuzzbox - As someone who's also had trouble with programmers and designers, it just pisses people off when they've paid money and the programmer fucks around delaying and delaying and excuses and delaying, instead of a refund. We've heard it all, we've paid and we want the shit done, not excuses! Is it so hard to understand?

                                                                                                      Ive read EVERY word you said on icq on email and here. I also stated many times we had to get that script done. But you postponed. Vanished from icq. Didnt reply on email. Postponed again.

                                                                                                      I wish you all the best with you superbig projects. I hope you find many clients who think its absolutely cool to skip deadlines 10 times in a row. Cause we sure dont.

If he didn't have the time to complete the task as agreed he shouldn't have taken the job. And him not having a lousey $100 to refund him speaks volumes.

                                                                                                              And : he said we would be refunded yesterday. Here's the first part of the email he wrote yesterday. Yes he used a friends paypal. I dont care.

I know $100 isnt much. But Id be a hell of a lot happier with Fuzebox telling us he couldnt do it then this shit true.
