I would. Why should having money or not having money have anything to do with wanting to do stuff you enjoy??!!

The guy is like 59 years old, pretty sure he lived his life pretty full. He died what he enjoyed doing most.

I'd rather die doing something I loved than remain safely in my house doing nothing for fear that I might die and lose my precious $20 billion.

There's a good argument to be made that increased trade partnerships among nations greatly decreases the chance of war between those nations.

So let me get this, so just because he is worth 20 Billion he should live in a high-security fortress, with dozens of nannys and not do what he wants to?..

Why are you blaming the companies? It's the consumers that buy the products. For every thing you buy made in other countries, you can buy something that was made in the US (well, maybe not Kimonos, chopstix, etc ) but the CONSUMERS want the cheap crap. If AMERICANS weren't buying from or working at Walmart, they would go out of business

The weather looks shitty in that pic, [lots of currents etc could take such a small craft out in a hurry] or perhaps a build or maintenance error.

The money he was worth means nothing, (unless of course you have no money then it means a lot).

Obviously not many have since they are the most successful department store in the country. When consumers are willing to pay more for things made in the US, only then will you see stores like Walmart start only buying US made goods or closing. You can't be as successful as Walmart is w/o the support of consumers.

When you question it .. think about it first

One can hate the rich and whine about jobs being lost blah blah blah ..

" I also noted to Mr. Smith that Wal-Mart, all by itself, was responsible for a significant amount of the U.S. productivity miracle over the last decade. In a 2001 report, the McKinsey Global Institute, a respected think tank, concluded Wal-Mart's managerial innovations increased overall productivity by more than all the investments in computers and information technology of recent years.

Wal-Mart's innovations include large-scale (big box) stores, economies of scale in warehouse logistics and purchasing, electronic data interchange, and wireless bar code scanning. These gave Wal-Mart a 48 percent productivity advantage over its competitors, forcing those firms to innovate as well, thereby pushing up their productivity. The McKinsey study found productivity improvements in wholesale and retail trade alone accounted for more than half of the increased national productivity between 1995 and 1999.

A new study from the prestigious National Bureau of Economic Research found Wal-Mart has a substantial effect on reducing inflation. For example, it typically sells food for 15 percent to 25 percent less than competing supermarkets. Interestingly, this effect is not captured in official government data. Fully accounting for it would reduce the published inflation rate by as much as 0.42 percentage points or 15 percent yearly."

i was at the zoning office yesterday (where i live) and Walmart is building a business complex. This has taken 2 years and 2 new contractors just to get the permits approved. On that note, Walmart is doing something right to build a business park.

On the bad side, they just imminent domained (or I should say the local officials) 2 trailer parks in the area to build this complex. At first, they were going to move these residents to a new area. Now, the residents there have to find a new place to live.

Granted, these trailer parks (off of 72) are an eye sore, I kinda feel bad for them cause this is a place they call home.

However, in the end it's a DOG EAT DOG world.

The weird thing is that there was an ultralight crash in our county yesterday here in Michigan as well. Person survived this one though. Rough day for ultralights I guess.
