So much for sleep (scary!)

I just about had a fucking heart attack!

I took off my glasses and put them on the nightstand and laid down to go to bed, but I couldn't sleep, so I was just changing how I was lying trying to get comfortable. I settled on my tummy with my head facing the wall, and I thought I saw something sticking out of the side of the headboard, but, no glasses, so I wasn't sure, so I started to get up, when whatever it was started moving....

I really slowly started to reach for my glasses without taking my eyes off the the thing, but I just decided to push the head board back on the wall to squish it...

Got my glasses on, turned of the light, and pulled the headboard away from the wall to see what it was..

A fucking scorpion!

I have some shitty luck with those little fuckers. I put my foot in my sandal that I had left on the porch once and got stung. When I was pregnant with my youngest child we took our older kids to Daytona for Memorial weekend.....our last get-away before the new baby came. We were in the hotel room, watching tv, and I felt something crawling up my leg..sure as shit, was a damn scorpion. And now one was trying to get in bed with me.

NO WAY. I would have lost it, a fucking scorpion...holy shit. In Orange County (Southern California) they're rare because we've developed so much of the area the past 30 years, if I saw one I doubt I'd even know wtf it was at first.

I go running at a simple Black Widow, let alone a goddamned scorpion...jesus...

I do have life insurance, but my mom is the beneficiary, and the spouse is out of the picture now, so I don't think he planted it, lol. He can't be bothered to show up for visits, so I can't imagine him offing the woman who takes care of his kids so he doesn't have to, lolol.

I have contacts, I just don't wear them unless I'm going to a club or something. My glasses look cute on me, lol. Anyway, I wouldn't get the kind you sleep in too, they gave me trouble when I tried them once. So contacts would have still left me blind when it happened, and it's easier to put on glasses than put in contacts.

And the really scarry thing is, that just as I was reading this thread, my wife hears the baby make a sound. She looks over and down, and right next to the table that we are aitting at, and less than three feet from the babys pack and play, Where he is, there is a spider about 1 1/2 inch. FUCK!!! GOt to call the spray guys myself.

That makes it ten times worse-when your kids are nearby..when the one was crawling up my leg, my then 2yo was lying curled up in front of me, and just now when it happened, she was in my bed, too.

These aren't deadly, they're too little. But they hurt, and if you're allergic to the venom, could put you in the hospital for a day or two. I wasn't allergic before, but I developed all kinds of weird allergies two years ago, (like latex), so I don't want to find out if this is one of them, lol.
