I put my mainstream company and house up for sale today

After 3 months of thinking and talks with the bank, legal advice and myself, I finally signed the papers giving my lawyer the right to sell my IT-service company and house to a minimum price of ?1,56 mill.

It's a funny feeling

In the future I'll only be myself and the 2 freelancers - I'm gonna be free - finally. I'll move to south-america or mexico (have looked at 3 places) and kick back. The only income will be the websites - but that should not be a problem anymore, since Google Adsens is paying my bills today Denmark, it will make me a pretty wealthy guy in south-america whare everything is 10 times cheaper

Are you going to rely on Google AdSense as your sole income? That seems kind of risky unless you're willing to work again if the need arises.

very cool. Do you owe a ton of tax on those sales? Like tons of people I would like to do something like that. The thing holding me back is security.

Security for the cash while over seas with decent access to it. Then should you burn throught the cash or invest it poorly, it is much easier to recoup the losses in the developed world.

Things CAN be 10 times cheaper, but not always. Make sure that you really research where you are going. Also talk to people that you know that live there.

I live in Mexico, and there are at least 2 others on the board I think.

I was just looking at the Dow Jones Industrial Average in the US. It has a 5% yield right now. Historically stable and nice coupon rate.

Put your cash in something like that and you have 75k a year extra to reinvest or blow on stuff.

But I need an adress for statements. And a way to transfer the cash etc. Brazil which is where I would move is very backward on some of this stuff. The good news is this got me thinking about it again.
